A Denver man was charged with multiple counts of assault, resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer after he allegedly tried to fight people in the Wendy\u2019s and Safeway parking lots in Fraser while intoxicated.<\/p>\n

According to the arrest report, Fraser Winter Park Police officers responded to a call around 5 p.m. Thursday about an intoxicated man yelling at people and throwing his food at them outside Wendy\u2019s in Fraser.<\/p>\n

Officers found the man, later identified as Sky Richmond, 26, near Safeway, where he had been trying to hit cars and laying in the road. When officers tried to speak with Richmond behind the Safeway near the Fraser River Trail, Richmond tried running from police before slipping on icy pavement, the report said.<\/p>\n

While police were arresting Richmond, he allegedly kicked at the officers, bit one in the thigh and resisted being put in handcuffs. A search of Richmond revealed two empty shooters and a half-empty fifth of vodka.<\/p>\n

As officers put Richmond in the patrol car, he allegedly continued to fight and spit at the officers, striking one on the head. Once in the patrol car, Richmond tried to escape by unbuckling his seatbelt, kicking on the car windows and smashing his head up to 10 times on the protection barrier in the car, according to the arrest report.<\/p>\n

The officer transporting Richmond then pulled over and called the Grand County Sheriff\u2019s Office and EMS to assess him. The report says it took five officers to move Richmond from the patrol car into the ambulance due to his kicking, which struck at least one officer.<\/p>\n

Once in the ambulance, an officer had to hold Richmond down to protect EMS staff. During the entire incident, Richmond allegedly also threatened both police and EMS staff.<\/p>\n

Richmond has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault, resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer, disorderly conduct and harassment.<\/p>\n
