Many locals believe requiring bear proof trash bins would ease some of the conflicts they’ve seen with wildlife while helping keep bears and people safe.

For the other measure, Crone said he will present a plan that would require short-term rentals be inspected by the Grand Lake Fire Department. Crone said the inspections would be geared toward ensuring essentials like ingress and egress, fire alarms and extinguishers.

Town leaders have also asked Crone to look into a lodging tax, and he expects that discussion to happen later this year.

The Grand Lake Board of Trustees meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at Grand Lake Town Hall, 1026 Park Ave. Work sessions start at 5 p.m. and the regular meetings begin at 7:30 p.m.

via:: Sky-Hi News

Pressed to reign in short-term rentals in Grand Lake, the town manager expects to have a couple ideas for town leaders to consider on Monday.
