Early childhood educators, occupational therapist, speech/language therapist, vision and hearing specialist, and public health professionals will be on site performing screenings for all children.

The screenings are not intended to determine early entrance for kindergarten, but rather to answer questions, help support, or address concerns about your child’s development. Call 887-3312 for an appointment.

• Fraser Valley Elementary School finished our first round of book clubs by reading “Artemis Fowl” by Eoin Colfer with fourth-graders and fifth-graders. The students read and discussed the chapter book about a 12-year-old boy who kidnaps a fairy, causing the underground world of fairies, minotaurs and trolls to collide with the human world. Several students read both the graphic novel version or the audiobook version along with the traditional book. The students enjoyed having lunch together and creating their own discussion questions based on what they had read. Book clubs are an extra opt-in activity for students who want to participate.

• MPHS students in Todd Williams’ class were participating in a gallery walk looking at primary and secondary sources about New Deal programs. This was part of their unit about the 1930s covering the Great Depression and the New Deal.

• Friday school last week was a lot of fun. The kids did a great job surprising people with treats and flowers. I was able to get 10 bundles of flowers and some treats donated from City Market. Two of the kids made a couple dozen cookies too.

• MPHS hosted eighth-grade students and parents on Wednesday as a part of orientation and transition to high school next year.

via:: Sky-Hi News

The “Reading Rhinos” book club poses for a photo after their final lunch meeting at the Fraser Valley Elementary School.Courtesy EGSD Great Happenings in East Grand Schools the week of Feb. 21. • Teacher Lindsay Dalton at MPHS would like to invite you all to a Project Based Learning presentation given by a few of […]

[56

0":"post-21522","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-local-news
"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":
["GET
