Fraser\u2019s little league hockey team ended its season on a high note when the Fraser Valley Eagles Peewee team took home second place in the Arvada Winter Festival tournament where 11 teams from around the region competed.<\/p>\n

On Valentine\u2019s Day, the Eagles started the tournament off strong with a win against the Lakewood Lakers before taking on Aspen and Vail.<\/p>\n

Though the team lost to the Omaha team in the last game of the round, the Eagles scored enough points to head to the semi-finals on Feb. 17.<\/p>\n

A hard fought game against the Valencia Flyers, California, in the semi-finals resulted in the Eagles winning 5-1 and moving on to the last game against Omaha.<\/p>\n

Throughout the finals, the Eagles trailed Omaha and though they were able to get some points on the scoreboard for a tight game, they couldn\u2019t overcome Omaha\u2019s early lead. They fell 3-2.<\/p>\n

Despite that, Matt Sullivan, head coach of the Eagles, was happy with the team\u2019s efforts during the tournament.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a great team effort and every player gave it their all,\u201d Sullivan said. \u201cThe kids have a lot to be proud of and get a nice banner to hang at the rink.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Eagles finished their regular season in second place and will compete in the Divisional Playoff tournament this weekend.<\/p>\n
