{"id":21753,"date":"2020-03-06T12:48:07","date_gmt":"2020-03-06T19:48:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.skyhinews.com\/?p=63610"},"modified":"2020-03-06T12:48:07","modified_gmt":"2020-03-06T19:48:07","slug":"test-results-negative-after-covid-19-scare-in-grand-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/krky\/local-news\/test-results-negative-after-covid-19-scare-in-grand-county\/","title":{"rendered":"Test results negative after COVID-19 scare in Grand County"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.skyhinews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2020\/02\/2019-coronavirus-1024x512.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>Test results involving a suspected case of the novel coronavirus in Grand County have revealed the person was not infected with the virus.<\/p>\n<p>In a joint news release, authorities across the county reassured residents Friday that the test showed the suspected case reported by the Grand County Public Health Department the day before was not the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon further assessment and treatment of the patient, Novel Coronavirus has been ruled out as a possible diagnosis,\u201d authorities reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHealth care workers in close contact with this patient wore appropriate personal protective equipment; therefore the risk of possible transmission was low,\u201d the release continued. \u201cThere is no danger to the general public.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite ruling out the coronavirus, officials are still urging&nbsp;the public to take precautions against the spread of infection.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who is sick and suspects he or she might be contagious with the novel coronavirus should stay home, except to seek medical care, and call <a href=\"https:\/\/www.co.grand.co.us\/220\/Public-Health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Grand County Public Health (opens in a new tab)\">Grand County Public Health<\/a> at 970-725-3288 for advice on appropriate actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you feel you need to seek medical care, please call the facility in which you will be seeking medical care to discuss appropriate actions first before arriving,\u201d authorities warned, adding that people can visit the Grand County health department\u2019s website for more information.<\/p>\n<p>The news release was issued by the Grand County Office of Emergency Management, Grand County Public Health Department, Grand County EMS, Denver Health Winter Park Medical Center, Middle Park Health.
