{"id":21958,"date":"2020-03-18T14:06:13","date_gmt":"2020-03-18T20:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.skyhinews.com\/?p=63827"},"modified":"2020-03-18T14:06:13","modified_gmt":"2020-03-18T20:06:13","slug":"grand-foundation-establishes-emergency-assistance-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/krky\/local-news\/grand-foundation-establishes-emergency-assistance-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"Grand Foundation establishes emergency assistance fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.skyhinews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/07\/DSC_1230-1240x824-1-1024x680.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>The Grand Foundation has established an emergency assistance fund for the COVID-19 pandemic in Grand County.<\/p>\n<p>The Grand Foundation has established an&nbsp;emergency assistance fund to help the county grapple with the novel coronavirus outbreak.<\/p>\n<p>In a coordinated effort, Grand Foundation is working with the county, local nonprofits and agencies that provide direct client services, and the foundation set up the fund to support vulnerable populations through the crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Vulnerable populations are identified as&nbsp;lower income, seniors, youth, displaced workers&nbsp;and at-risk populations, including people with underlying health conditions or a disability.<\/p>\n<p>Primary focus areas for this funding will include, but are not limited to,&nbsp;rental, mortgage and utility assistance,&nbsp;food insecurities and grocery access,&nbsp;school districts and primary education support, and&nbsp;behavioral health, according to the foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The Grand Foundation will house the funds to be distributed to nonprofits or agencies in the county that provide direct services to vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n<p>Donations can be made directly to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandfoundation.com\/\">the Grand Foundation<\/a> earmarked for the \u201cEmergency Assistance Fund.\u201d All money raised will go back out to the Grand County community. The fund is seeded at $150,000.<\/p>\n<p>Mail donations to PO Box 1342, Winter Park, CO 80482 or donate directly online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.GrandFoundation.com\">http:\/\/www.GrandFoundation.com<\/a> by selecting \u201cEmergency Assistance Fund for COVID-19\u201d when making your donation.<\/p>\n<p>The Mountain Family Center will be accepting and administering all applications for rental\/mortgage\/utility assistance, food insecurities and grocery access.
