He was 61. <\/p>\n<p>An Oklahoma native, Diffie moved to Nashville in 1986, finding work at Gibson Guitars and as a singer on demo sessions. He charted a No. 1 hit with his first single, \u201cHome,\u201d in 1990. Between 1990 and 2000 he charted 16 Top 10 hits on Epic Records. In 2002 he rebounded on Monument Records with the Top 10 single, \u201cIn Another World.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>As a songwriter, he claimed a three-week No. 1 hit with Jo Dee Messina\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/o40fwZgSFPI\">\u201cMy Give a Damn\u2019s Busted\u201d<\/a> in 2005. He also reached gold with 1992\u2019s <em>Regular Joe<\/em> and 1995\u2019s <em>Life\u2019s So Funny<\/em>. Other albums include: <em>A Thousand Winding Roads<\/em> (1990), <em>Mr. Christmas<\/em> (1995), <em>Twice Upon a Time<\/em> (1997), <em>Greatest Hits<\/em> (1998), and <em>A Night to Remember<\/em> (1999).<\/p>\n<p>Diffie won a CMA Award for \u201cI Don\u2019t Need Your Rocking Chair,\u201d the 1993 collaboration with George Jones. He received a 1998 Grammy for his participation in the all-star single, \u201cSame Old Train,\u201d and released a bluegrass album in 2010.
