The COO made it clear an A-Basin re-opening will not be happening soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat said, you know when conditions are right, we will try and re-open,\u201d Henceroth wrote. \u201cThat time is at least a few weeks away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t be discouraged,\u201d Henceroth added. \u201cThis is a marathon and A-Basin is a marathon runner. What other area stays open from mid-October to July 4th? Culturally, to open we have to be comfortable traveling and driving again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A-Basin has been closed for lift-serviced skiing and riding since mid-March&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjk3LXymITpAhVPZ80KHTHVA04QFjAAegQIARAB&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.summitdaily.com%2Fnews%2Fvail-resorts-suspending-operations-sunday-through-march-22%2F&amp;usg=AOvVaw032H1bT67qfmDam0ldX6O8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">when Gov. Jared Polis mandated the closure of ski areas across the state<\/a><i class=\"fas fa-external-link-alt\"><\/i>&nbsp;due to the novel coronavirus pandemic and accompanying health concerns.
