{"id":22595,"date":"2020-04-26T15:58:08","date_gmt":"2020-04-26T21:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.skyhinews.com\/?p=64385"},"modified":"2020-04-27T10:19:03","modified_gmt":"2020-04-27T16:19:03","slug":"grand-foundation-grant-fund-awards-almost-400k-to-small-businesses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/krky\/local-news\/grand-foundation-grant-fund-awards-almost-400k-to-small-businesses\/","title":{"rendered":"Grand Foundation grant fund awards almost $400K to small businesses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When the COVID-19 pandemic shuttered restaurants in Colorado, Fontenot\u2019s co-owner Chris Moore said the Winter Park restaurant had just prepared for spring break crowds by stocking up on food and beverages.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Facing large food bills on top of regular payments, Moore applied for a small business emergency grant from the Grand Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe got on it really quick and I think it was the first time we\u2019ve had to ask for help in 30 years due to the nature of (the pandemic),\u201d Moore said. \u201cThey helped pay some outstanding utility bills.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With the utility bills paid, the restaurant is able to focus on offering take-out during normal business hours and preparing to reopen once allowed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\" readability=\"6\">\n<div class=\"row shn-donation shn-donation-mobile p-0\" readability=\"7\">\n<div class=\"col-xl-4 p-2\">\n<div data-bg=\"url(https:\/\/cdn.skyhinews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2020\/02\/shn-logo-2x-wht.png)\" class=\"p-0 mt-2 mb-2 h-75 text-center rocket-lazyload\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.skyhinews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2020\/02\/shn-logo-2x-wht.png\" class=\"logo m-0 p-0 invisible\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><h3 class=\"d-inline mr-3\">Support Local Journalism<\/h3>\n<p><button class=\"btn d-inline\" type=\"button\" onclick=\"handleDonationButtonClickMidArticle()\">Donate<\/button><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The restaurant is one of 191 applications to the small business emergency grant fund, which as of April 24 had given out $391,831 to Grand County businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve awarded out over $382,000 and that equates to \u2026 over 1,100 employees affected by that,\u201d said Megan Ledin, executive director of the Grand Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>So far, the fund has raised $540,000, with Grand County, Winter Park and Fraser contributing $100,000, Mountain Parks Electric donating $90,000, Granby contributing $50,000, Grand Foundation allocating $30,000, Grand Lake giving $25,000 and Kremmling providing $15,000.<\/p>\n<p>Anonymous donors have also contributed money to the fund.<\/p>\n<p>Between three rounds of applications, the fund has awarded $391,831.
