{"id":1302139,"date":"2019-01-06T12:26:22","date_gmt":"2019-01-06T19:26:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vaildaily.com\/?p=441548"},"modified":"2019-01-06T12:26:22","modified_gmt":"2019-01-06T19:26:22","slug":"cameron-dallas-assaulted-man-after-he-kept-getting-weird-wouldnt-leave-hotel-room-police-report-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kske\/local-news\/cameron-dallas-assaulted-man-after-he-kept-getting-weird-wouldnt-leave-hotel-room-police-report-says\/","title":{"rendered":"Cameron Dallas assaulted man after he \u2018kept getting weird,\u2019 wouldn\u2019t leave hotel room, police report says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText DropCap\">A social media star arrested for felony assault last weekend at an Aspen hotel not only fractured another man\u2019s nose but broke his jaw as well, according to police documents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">In addition, Cameron Dallas, 24, told an Aspen police officer he lost his temper and hit the man several times after the man made unwanted sexual advances on Dallas\u2019 male friend, then refused to leave their hotel room, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u201cUnfortunately sometimes in life you find yourself in a situation where you have to protect yourself and the people you care about,\u201d Dallas wrote in a Dec. 31 Twitter post that accompanied his Aspen police mug shot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\"><a id=\"N0x247a130N0x20f61a0:N0x247a130N0x2125460\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/news\/internet-star-cameron-dallas-arrested-aspen-charged-felony-assault\/\">The incident<\/a>\u00a0first came to the attention of Aspen police in the early morning hours of Dec. 29.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Officers responded to the Hyatt Grand Aspen on East Dean Street at 5:10 a.m. \u201cfor a report of a man in the lobby bleeding from the face,\u201d the affidavit states. When they arrived, they spoke with a 34-year-old man bleeding from the nose who told them he had been assaulted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">An ambulance transported the man to Aspen Valley Hospital at that time, where a doctor later diagnosed the nose and jaw fractures. Those injuries \u2014 known as \u201cserious bodily injury\u201d \u2014 are the basis for the felony charge against Dallas.<\/p>\n<div id=\"single-mid-script\" class=\"p402_hide\">\n<h2>Recommended Stories For You<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Meanwhile, a hotel employee working in the Hyatt lobby told police the 34-year-old man exited the elevator \u201cbloodied and distraught\u201d and \u201ccried for help,\u201d according to the affidavit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u201cShortly later, another man emerged from the elevator and started yelling at (the bloodied man) to leave the hotel,\u201d the affidavit states. \u201c(The bloodied man) accused this man of assaulting him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u201cA brief argument ensued, and the man got back on the elevator.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The hotel employee identified the man who yelled at the other man as Dallas, and escorted police to his room.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Dallas told Aspen police Officer Ian MacAyeal that he and his 19-year-old friend were visiting from Los Angeles and were at Bootsy Bellows nightclub in downtown Aspen with several other friends earlier that night. During the course of the evening, the 34-year-old man \u201cinvolved himself with this group of friends,\u201d according to the affidavit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">When the bar closed, an 18-year-old member of the group \u2014 Nasser Alfallah \u2014 invited the 34-year-old man back to the Hyatt. However, not long after they arrived at the hotel, Alfallah was arrested by Aspen police for trespassing in one of the rooms, the affidavit states.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">A security guard mistakenly let the \u201cextremely intoxicated\u201d Alfallah into a room where he wasn\u2019t staying, and he and another man yelled and jumped up and down on beds in which two women were sleeping, according to a police report. The women did not know Alfallah, the report states.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Not long after, the 34-year-old man \u2014 standing in the lobby with Dallas and his friend \u2014 asked if he could charge his phone in their room. The three then went to the room, though Dallas left five minutes later to find out more about Alfallah\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u201cDallas returned 30 minutes later and \u2018immediately got a weird vibe,&#8217;\u201d according to the arrest warrant affidavit. \u201cDallas spoke with (his friend) in private. He learned (the 34-year-old man) had made homosexual advances and suggestions toward (his friend) while he was in the lobby.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The 19-year-old friend was \u201cfreaked out\u201d by the advances, which he rejected, the affidavit states. That prompted Dallas to tell the man to leave their hotel room.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u201c(The 34-year-old man) refused to leave and \u2018kept getting weird,&#8217;\u201d the affidavit quotes Dallas as saying. \u201cDallas asked (the man) to leave several more times, but he refused.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u201cDallas then lost his temper and hit (the man) about the head and face several times (Dallas\u2019 right hand had abrasions consistent with hitting someone).\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Dallas was charged with second-degree assault causing serious bodily injury, posted a $5,000 bond and is due back in Pitkin County District Court on Jan. 22.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">A text message seeking comment sent Friday to the phone number listed for Dallas in court documents was not answered. Dallas\u2019 Colorado Springs-based lawyer also did not respond to a message seeking comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Dallas has millions of followers on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube and is the star of the reality TV show \u201cChasing Cameron\u201d on Netflix. He also is an actor and singer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The arrest warrant affidavit was released by Aspen police Friday with the permission of the District Attorney\u2019s Office.
