We are looking forward to hosting NPR’s (National Public Radio) “From The Top” on Wednesday at 7 p.m. We would truly love to pack the house for this monumental event.<\/p>\n
Not only do we expect the show to be entertaining and inspiring, but it also serves as a profound public relations opportunity for us as a venue and valley. With half a million listeners tuning in across the country, the show boasts thousands of podcast listeners and millions of video views through YouTube and Facebook. As such, we hope to fill our auditorium and put our best foot forward for the national broadcast.<\/p>\n
As if that isn’t reason enough, Charles Yang, Julliard graduate and recipient of the 2018 Leonard Bernstein Award, will host this show and has been described as one who “plays classical violin with the charisma of a rock star.” We very much look forward to filling the auditorium with a local presence and generous applause.<\/p>\n
In case you aren’t familiar with NPR’s “From The Top,” this radio showcase for young musicians plays weekly on more than 200 NPR radio stations nationwide to an audience of nearly half a million listeners. The popular NPR radio program features the amazing performances and captivating personal stories of extraordinary young classical musicians from across the country.<\/p>\n
“From the Top” is the most popular weekly one-hour music program on public radio. The 90-minute live show features entertaining interviews and performances with five featured soloists. Responding to host Charles Yang, young performers share their passion for classical music, and speak about their non-musical lives, from career goals and family traditions to hidden talents, school, and community life.<\/p>\n

Over the past 20 years, “From the Top” has grown into a multi-media and arts education powerhouse, transforming the lives of hundreds of young musicians each year, inspiring millions of fans, and pioneering new ways to unite communities around the promise of great young talent.<\/p>\n
“From the Top” prepares young musicians to be instruments of positive social change in their communities and empowers them to explore their individual leadership pathways while planning and delivering programs to diverse audiences in schools, senior centers, hospitals and museums.<\/p>\n
Our show specifically features: violinist Charlotte Marckx, 16, from Bellevue, Washington; flutist Scott Quirk, 17, from Simi Valley, California; erhu player Benjamin Lee, 16, from Byron, Minnestoa; guitarist Gwenyth Aggeler, 16, from Denver, Colorado; pianist Marc Soong, 15, from Alhambra, California and will be hosted by esteemed violinist Charles Yang.<\/p>\n
