{"id":1302539,"date":"2019-01-17T12:33:00","date_gmt":"2019-01-17T19:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vaildaily.com\/news\/ski-in-a-nordic-5k-this-weekend\/"},"modified":"2019-01-17T12:33:00","modified_gmt":"2019-01-17T19:33:00","slug":"ski-in-a-nordic-5k-this-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kske\/local-news\/ski-in-a-nordic-5k-this-weekend\/","title":{"rendered":"Ski in a Nordic 5K this weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Join Vail Recreation District for the first event in the 2019 Bloch &amp; Chapleau Vail Grail Winter Race Series.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Compete in individual races or complete all four races to have a shot at winning the coveted Vail Grail, a permanent trophy that will bear the male and female division winners&#8217; names for years to come.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The race begins at noon, and you can register at <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/2HfQzLW\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/bit.ly\/2HfQzLW<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The Vail Nordic 5K Citizens Race kicks off the four-race series on Saturday. This Nordic race takes place at noon at Maloit Park in the Town of Minturn, immediately following the Battle Mountain High School Nordic race that starts at 9:45 a.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">After the race, participants will be treated to lunch at Kirby Cosmo&#8217;s BBQ Bar, located in downtown Minturn. Participants ages 21 and over will receive a free beer courtesy of Vail Brewing Company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Top finishers in the male and female categories will receive prizes and all racers will be entered into a raffle for goodies courtesy of the race sponsors 808 Distillery, Alpine Wine &amp; Spirits, HWK Ski Wax and Vail Mountain Coffee &amp; Tea. Additional race sponsors include the Town of Minturn, Vail Brewing Company and PCL Construction.<\/p>\n<div id=\"single-mid-script\" class=\"p402_hide\">\n<h2>Recommended Stories For You<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The Vail Mountain Coffee &amp; Tea Cafe is open to the public on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to grab some fuel on your way to the race.
