The slide occurred\u00a0near the 12,400-foot Kachina Peak just before noon.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.taosnews.com\/stories\/second-avalanche-victim-family-confirm-death-social-media,54588\">The Taos News<\/a> reported that medical teams had worked to keep Borg-Massanari alive for roughly three days before it was determined he would not survive.
