(AP) \u2014 Veterans of World War II from Colorado received the L\u00e9gion d\u2019Honneur, or Legion of Honor, from the French government.<\/p>\n<p>The Coloradoan\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coloradoan.com\/story\/news\/2019\/02\/04\/france-legion-honor-award-bestowed-upon-world-war-ii-veterans\/2769622002\/\">reports<\/a>\u00a0the veterans were honored Monday by Christophe Lemoine, consulate of France based in Los Angeles, at the Good Samaritan Society\u2019s senior living facility in Windsor.<\/p>\n<p>Honorees included 2nd Lt. William Powell of Fort Collins, who was a B-24 pilot; Staff Sgt. Harry Maroncelli of Fort Collins, who was a ball turret gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress; Staff Sgt. Philip Daily of Brighton, who was a tailgunner in a B-17; Lt. Leila Morrison of Windsor, who was a combat nurse with the 118th Evacuation Hospital; and Lt. Armand Sedgeley of Lakewood, who was a B-17 Flying Fortress bombardier.<\/p>\n<p>Joe Graham, who served as tank commander, also was honored.
