In order to avoid getting caught in avalanches, backcountry travelers are encouraged to learn about the potential hazards associated with backcountry travel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">This free community avalanche awareness presentation will highlight the human factor hazard, as well as provide an overview of tools that can be used to navigate available weather and avalanche resources, decision-making considerations and appropriate equipment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Presenters include:<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u2022 Dale Atkins, a snow science and backcountry rescue expert.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u2022 Dan Smith, vice president of Vail Mountain Rescue Group and mission coordinator.<\/p>\n<div id=\"single-mid-script\" class=\"p402_hide\">\n<h2>Recommended Stories For You<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u2022 Chrissie Oken, a program supervisor and instructor for National Outdoor Leadership School.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u2022 Kreston Rohrig, a Colorado Avalanche Information Center forecaster for the Vail\/Summit area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u2022 Kelli Rohrig, an American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education instructor, member of the Glide Project and backcountry ski guide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Additionally, there will be informational booths including: Backcountry Access, Walking Mountains Science Center, Apex Mountain School, Paragon Guides, National Outdoor Leadership School, Weston Backcountry, Vail Mountain Rescue Group, Big Heart Big Hands and the Glide Project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Donovan Pavilion is located at 1600 S.
