A person died Sunday morning at Snowmass Mountain Resort, according to a deputy Pitkin County coroner. The death happened in a terrain park at the resort, a person in the area at the time of the incident said.<\/p>\n
\u00a0The death occurred before noon, Deputy Michael Buglione said. No other details about the victim were immediately available Sunday, he said.<\/p>\n
A person on the mountain when the death occurred said it happened at one of the jumps along the Village Express lift, which was shut down for a brief period. On-mountain personnel appeared to be performing CPR on the victim, the person said.<\/p>\n
The Makaha Park remained closed Sunday afternoon as ski patrollers continued their investigation at a jump under the Village Express lift.<\/p>\n
According to the resort’s website, the\u00a0Makaha Park<\/a>\u00a0“offers a logical next step up the progression ladder with its mix of intermediate and advanced features, ranging in size from medium to large. There are about 25 features in total, a progressive line of midsized jumps and about 15 jib features including all shapes of boxes and rails. Great area for learning new tricks and working on progression.”<\/p>\n
