When you think about all that Blake Shelton<\/a> has accomplished in his nearly 20 years in the music business, it\u2019s the little moments that stand out, right? Like that time he pulled Roho Hartman<\/a> out of a flood. And when he helped create the Blake Shelton Cancer Research Program at Oklahoma City\u2019s Jimmy Everest Center in honor of his cousin, Aspen Van Horn. And when he hosted a Healing in the Heartland concert and raised $6 million for the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s the very definition of good people.<\/p>\n

So on Wednesday (Feb. 13), Dierks Bentley<\/a> \u2014 last year\u2019s Country Radio Seminar Artist Humanitarian recipient \u2014 turned up at the Warner Music Nashville luncheon to hand his crown over to Shelton.<\/p>\n

When Shelton took the stage, he remained as humble as ever, downplaying his efforts.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the cool thing about country artists is, I feel like we all<\/em> step up, any time we get a chance. We have the easy part: We get to make music, and somehow, that helps to generate awareness for certain things. It generates money for certain things,\u201d Shelton told the industry crowd. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t think any of us don\u2019t step up anytime we get a chance.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think at the end of the day, y\u2019all were just trying to think of something to give me. Because I don\u2019t win anything anymore,\u201d he joked, \u201cso it\u2019s like, \u2019Give him the Humanitarian Award.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t mean that I don\u2019t very much appreciate it. I\u2019m so happy. I couldn\u2019t be more honored.\u201d<\/p>\n

He brought his guitar along, and played a few songs like \u201cAustin\u201d and \u201cOl\u2019 Red\u201d for the country radio crowd, many of whom gave Shelton some of his very first spins back in 2001. (I personally loved \u201cAustin\u201d so much that I found a tshirt with the lyrics<\/a> on it.)<\/p>\n
