Dierks Bentley<\/a> isn\u2019t doing enough living? Then what the hell is happening on his Instagram? The only explanation is that after he wrote the song \u201cLiving,\u201d he started taking his own advice.<\/p>\n

Because it kind of looks like he is doing way more living than most. For example:<\/p>\n

Reveling in the joy of a homemade birthday card from his son Knox.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

Taking the kids on a ski trip.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

Getting up to some shenanigans on the ice.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

Perfecting his curling skills.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

Finding potty humor in a urinal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

Going on a Costco run.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

Devoting a solid day to skiing in Banff:<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

Having a fireside dinner party.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

Climbing a man-made mountain almost all the way.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

Finding his place on the Olympic podium.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

Watching the Grammys on TV, just like the rest of us:<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

If you haven\u2019t heard it, \u201cLiving\u201d is Bentley\u2019s ode to being simultaneously out on tour but trapped in a parking lot. \u201cThe idea for this song started from being on the road and realizing how little \u2018living\u2019 we were actually doing out there. Whole days would go by where you never leave the bus,\u201d Bentley said, \u201cand all you would see is the back parking lot of the arena. Going to Walgreens was a big deal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then came the idea that there is a true difference between being alive and living. And so the line \u201cSome days you\u2019re just alive\/Some days you\u2019re livin’\u201d was born.<\/p>\n

And it sounds like it\u2019s more than just a song for Bentley. It\u2019s his new road map. \u201cThis song is certainly about big moments in life and adventure\u2026but it\u2019s more about finding the beauty and that feeling in everyday moments. My goal for 2019 is to get outdoors and seek adventure whenever possible while also being fully present and living in even the ordinary moments,\u201d he said, \u201cwhether it be my son\u2019s hockey practice and my girls\u2019 theater performances or sitting around the table having dinner in catering with my band and crew.\u201d Bentley wrote \u201cLiving\u201d with Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley and Jon Nite.<\/p>\n

The next stop non Bentley\u2019s tour<\/a> is on Thursday (Feb. 21) in Lexington, Kentucky. But you won\u2019t find him in the Rupp Arena parking lot. Maybe he\u2019ll be checking out Keeneland, touring the Aviation Museum, or sampling the craft bourbon at Bluegrass Distillers.<\/p>\n
