Kane Brown<\/a> had a choice to make. Brooks & Dunn\u2019s \u201cBoot Scootin\u2019 Boogie\u201d or their \u201cBelieve.\u201d He chose the latter, and recently talked about the recording experience with the All Our Favorite People<\/a> podcast earlier this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was an awesome experience, \u2018cause I love that song. When (Ronnie Dunn) was in the other box across from me, and I was scared to death singing right across from him,\u201d Brown said. \u201cI didn\u2019t know he still had pipes like that, but he was killing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brown and Dunn recorded the song for Brooks & Dunn\u2019s upcoming Reboot<\/em> album, due out April 5, that has the country duo collaborating with a dozen newer country artists on their biggest hits. Besides Brown, the album will feature vocals from Kacey Musgraves, Luke Combs, Midland, Ashley McBryde, Brothers Osborne, Thomas Rhett, Brett Young, Lanco, Cody Johnson, Jon Pardi and Tyler Booth.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got the cold chill voice,\u201d Brown said of Dunn\u2019s distinctive country sound. \u201cOnce he hits that note, you just get cold chills. So it was awesome to be able to put baritone right underneath him. That song\u2019s just so emotional anyway.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo matter who you are, if you listen to the song and you know the lyrics behind it, you can just connect with it. I want to write a song like that one day,\u201d he told the AOFP podcasters Ashley Eicher and Hunter Kelly.<\/p>\n

And in a behind-the-scenes video from the day Brown joined Dunn in the studio, he said he has been in awe of the duo\u2019s songwriting since around 5th or 6th grade. (Dunn wrote the 2005 ballad with Nashville hitmaker Craig Wiseman.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI would just sit in computer class, and just listen to this song on repeat. I just really felt connected to Old Man Wrigley<\/a>. I wish I could write a song as good as they do,\u201d Brown said.<\/p>\n
