That\u2019s what we all grew up doing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I also thought if you listen to the rest of my records, you would see songs that had that subject matter. There were a couple, but there were also a lot of songs that didn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added he agreed that the sound they popularized brought in a younger demographic to country music.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we were doing not only helped us, but it helped the whole format in general,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ve never recorded a song that I thought was \u2018Hey Jude.\u2019 I cut things I think are cool and things I want to go out and play. Hopefully, there\u2019s an audience that likes what I\u2019m doing and will come along for the ride.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that it\u2019s never fair to put artists in creative boxes anyway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy whole thing is if you\u2019re going to take a few songs and categorize me as something after listening to a few songs, so be it,\u201d Aldean said. \u201cBut if you take the time, and you listen to the whole albums, every song we\u2019ve done, I think you\u2019ll see that your assessment is a little off.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"author\">\n<div class=\"description\">Lauren Tingle is a Tennessean and storyteller who eats music for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
