What do you think is stronger? The power of prayer? Or the power of country music?<\/p>\n

Or what if you could combine the two, and create a force that\u2019s capable of miracles?<\/p>\n

That\u2019s my hope for this new Chrissy Metz movie, Breakthrough<\/em>. It\u2019s based on the true story of John Smith, a teenager from St. Louis who fell through the ice over Lake Ste. Louise and was under water for 15 minutes. It\u2019s a literal miracle he survived. His mother Joyce wrote a book \u2014 The Impossible: The Miraculous Story of a Mother\u2019s Faith and Her Child\u2019s Resurrection<\/em> \u2014 which was the inspiration for this movie.<\/p>\n

And now, there\u2019s music to match.<\/p>\n

The film\u2019s soundtrack features an all-star cast of its own, stacked with tunes from some of country\u2019s most inspirational voices: Carrie Underwood, Darius Rucker, Lauren Alaina, Maddie & Tae, Adam Hambrick and Mickey Guyton. And This Is Us<\/em> star Chrissy Metz lends her voice to the movie\u2019s theme, \u201cI\u2019m Standing With You.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Metz isn\u2019t a bona fide country singer, she\u2019s been a fan of the genre for as long as This Is Us<\/em> has been around. Backstage at last year\u2019s CMT Music Awards, she asked me to take her picture with Dan + Shay. She wasn\u2019t acting like an entitled celebrity. Just a diehard Dan + Shay fan. Basically, she was all of us.<\/p>\n
