At nearly every gig, according to Gore, the two are asked one of two questions: \u201care you a couple,\u201d or \u201care you siblings?\u201d They are, in fact, a couple.<\/p>\n<p>After meeting in Nashville, the two began dating and eventually dove into music together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe&nbsp;beginning of our music goal was writing,\u201d Cornilles said. \u201cWe would write a lot and then we eventually started playing together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cornilles would tag along to Gore\u2019s gigs, accompanying him on the fiddle, and their chemistry tied them together for a new musical act.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe sounded really good together,\u201d Gore recalled. \u201cI think there\u2019s a bit more of an \u2018it factor\u2019 with both of us playing. Part of the reason people think we\u2019re siblings is that we have this (sibling-like) harmony \u2026 We write and play the whole song together, and I think that\u2019s pretty rare.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"single-mid-script\" class=\"p402_hide\">\n<h2>Recommended Stories For You<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Gore and Cornilles consider themselves traditional country artists, performing music that hasn\u2019t really been seen since the 1990s from musicians like the Dixie Chicks and Brooks &amp; Dunn. We want to stick to our guns.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>The name<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cAustin\u2019s Rose\u201d sounds so much like a country music group, it would be easy to assume that it came about naturally, but that couldn\u2019t be further from the truth. Cornilles noted coming up with the name was really tough.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTim wanted to put our names to be in the (band) name \u2026 I didn\u2019t really know if we could do anything with Gore, and my last name is slaughtered all the time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, they settled on an amalgam of their middle names. Gore\u2019s middle name, Austin, also serves as a tribute to his father\u2019s Air Force days in Austin, Texas. Naturally, Gore and Cornilles were drawn there to launch their own projects (originally with no intention to join a band, necessarily), but it didn\u2019t exactly play out the way it does in the movies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Nashville, you can just drown in the bar scene,\u201d Cornilles said. \u201cYou have to play from noon to 2 a.m. and you don\u2019t have time to work on your craft.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, Vail provided some new opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>A booking agent called up the duo and suggested they stretch their musical muscles here in the valley. Since then, Cornilles noted, they\u2019ve had time to hone a musical craft because they only have to play a two-hour gig, then they can go home and work on more music.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVail&#8217;s been the best thing that ever happened to us,\u201d Gore said. \u201cWe really came into ourselves once we got out here. It\u2019s that John Denver thing, you start breathing and thinking \u2014 it really clears your mind.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>The road to success<\/h2>\n<p>Although it\u2019s been tough, the grind in Nashville has put Austin\u2019s Rose on the road to success. Within the last year and a half, Gore and Cornilles began to rebrand themselves, only putting out music that best represents who they are.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA Little Change,\u201d the band\u2019s 2018 album, can be found online, but after the release, they teamed up with super-producer&nbsp;Paul Worley, who has produced music for everyone from Martina McBride to Lady Antebellum.
