We had five packed houses of sold out shows,\u201d McRaith said.<\/p>\n<p>The nominees from GSHS include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Best actress in a supporting role for Molly Hancock\u2019s portrayal of Rosie<\/li>\n<li>Best actor in a supporting role for Jacob Cheney\u2019s character Bill<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding achievement in lighting:&nbsp; Tammy Girardot, Julia Novy, Sequoyah Recio, Keanan Bell, and Ariana Griffiths<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding achievement in costume design: Alexander Tucker, Matt Jensson, Katelyn Brennan, Julian Ingle Lewis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cheney\u2019s older sister Abbie Cheney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/news\/glenwoods-cheney-runner-up-for-state-musical-theater-award\/\">was the runner-up<\/a> for the 2016 Bobby G award for best actress in a leading role for her work in \u201cAnything Goes\u201d at GSHS.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.postindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/MammaMia-GPI-050319-01-1024x683.jpg\" alt class=\"wp-image-977330\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.postindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/MammaMia-GPI-050319-01-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cdn.postindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/MammaMia-GPI-050319-01-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cdn.postindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/05\/MammaMia-GPI-050319-01-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"><figcaption><strong>Several cast members, and the costume and lighting design teams for Glenwood Springs High School\u2019s \u201cMamma Mia\u201d are nominees for statewide high school musical awards.<\/strong><br \/><em>Provided<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Last year, GSHS students Sophie Carnoali and Cadie Harrison took home the award <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denvercenter.org\/for-educators\/bobby-g-award-winners\/\">for outstanding achievement in choreography<\/a> for the musical \u201cCrazy for You.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 2019 Bobby G awards ceremony, complete with Tony Awards-style musical performances, will be held 7 p.m. May 23 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/entertainment\/glenwood-highs-mamma-mia-finalists-in-four-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Post Independent<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Several cast members, and the costume and lighting design teams for Glenwood Springs High School&#8217;s &#8220;Mamma Mia&#8221; are nominees for statewide high school musical awards.Provided The Glenwood Springs High School theater production \u201cMamma Mia\u201d has been nominated for four awards in the Denver Center\u2019s Bobby G Musical Theater Awards this year.
