Once the nominees for the 2019 CMT Music Awards<\/a> were announced, the nominated artists immediately started reacting. And we\u2019re admittedly kind of biased, but we think we already have a win for the best artist reaction.<\/p>\n

It came from Brandi Carlile<\/a>. She is nominated in two categories: female video of the year for \u201cThe Joke\u201d and CMT performance of the year for her performance of Aretha Franklin\u2019s \u201c(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman\u201d from the 2018 CMT Artists of the Year special with Maren Morris.<\/p>\n

Carlile posted a home movie of herself as a little girl, in a big cowboy hat and even bigger puffy sleeves, belting out Trisha Yearwood\u2019s 1991 debut song, \u201cShe\u2019s in Love with the Boy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have loved country music since I was this little girl. Thank you @cmt awards for giving me a shot,\u201d Carlile wrote.<\/p>\n
