It\u2019s too bad we had somebody like Colin Kaepernick playing soccer in the Women\u2019s World Cup.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a big fan of international soccer \u2013 men\u2019s and women\u2019s.<\/p>\n

I was excited when the Women\u2019s World Cup came along and I was proud the U.S. team won.<\/p>\n

But having to put up with someone like a star like Megan Rapinoe, who did all she could to turn her team\u2019s great victory into a \u201cI hate Donald Trump\u201d event, spoiled a lot of the enjoyment for me.<\/p>\n

Rapinoe spent most of her time off the field dissing Donald Trump, dissing America, dissing the National Anthem and praising her left-wing political heroine, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, during her between-game interviews Rapinoe made sure everyone knew there were a whole lot of lesbians playing for the U.S. women\u2019s soccer team.<\/p>\n

No kidding, Megan.<\/p>\n

Lesbians have been playing in women\u2019s sports for a long time \u2013 golf, tennis, basketball and soccer. We, ah, already knew that.<\/p>\n

And anyway, so what?<\/p>\n

Who besides you and a few queer studies professors at Yale cared about the soccer players\u2019 sexual orientations?<\/p>\n

But the worst thing Rapinoe did was to make America\u2019s world cup victory all about herself and her political angst about Donald Trump, not about the triumph of her teammates or her country.<\/p>\n

Of course the anti-Trump media were more than happy to fill the airwaves 24\/7 with her bleeped out Trump comments.<\/p>\n

And if the women\u2019s team had lost to the Netherlands last weekend in the final, Rapinoe and the liberal media would have blamed Trump for somehow causing them severe psychological distress.<\/p>\n

On CNN Tuesday night, when she was asked if she had a message for the President, she turned to the camera and delivered this political crapola to the 13 people who still watch that collapsing channel:<\/p>\n

\u201cYour message is excluding people. You\u2019re excluding me. You\u2019re excluding people that look like me. You\u2019re excluding people of color. You\u2019re excluding Americans that maybe support you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thanks for the deep political insight, Megan.<\/p>\n

And the rest of us get the equal-pay-for-women-soccer-players thing, but an obnoxious style and spewing left-wing politics will not win women players much support from soccer fans in the Hinterland who still happen to love America.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday in New York City the country Rapinoe repeatedly dishonored honored her and her team with a ticker-tape parade.<\/p>\n

When the National Anthem was played, her teammates put their hands over their hearts while Rapinoe, a brat to the end, put her hands behind her back and smirked.<\/p>\n

I honestly don\u2019t care what Rapinoe says about Trump or the U.S. She\u2019s allowed to say any dumb or nasty thing she wants. It\u2019s America, whether she hates it or not.<\/p>\n

But what Rapinoe did before, during and after the world cup was different, much worse and far more divisive for the country than what Colin Kaepernick\u2019s protests did in the NFL.<\/p>\n

When the San Francisco QB refused to stand during the National Anthem to protest the unfair way he claimed police treated black people, he was taking a knee in the NFL \u2013 an American sport.<\/p>\n

But soccer is a massively popular international sport.<\/p>\n

By not singing the Anthem and not putting her hand over her heart, Rapinoe for all intents and purposes was saying \u201cF-America\u201d in front of the whole world.<\/p>\n

The good news is that Rapinoe\u2019s 15 minutes of shame is about over.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s time for her to go back to kicking a soccer ball around for a living, not the president.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also time for her to try to grow up.<\/p>\n
