Pony Express Kids Mini Triathlon<\/p>\n
Rifle will host the annual kids triathlon 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20. Children age 4-10 years old are invited to participate in the event. The event will be based at Metro Park directly before the Rifle Tri-fle, kids get a chance to get in on the fun by swimming 50 yards in the swimming pool (up and back), pedaling around Metro Park two times on their favorite cycling machine and finishing up with one more lap on foot around Metro Park. There is a $10 entry fee.<\/p>\n
The race distances are 50 yard swim, 1.2 km bike and 0.6 km run.<\/p>\n
Rifle Tri-fle<\/p>\n
Rifle Parks and Recreation will also host the annul Tri-fle Super Sprint Triathlon 9 a.m. Saturday, which includes 450 yard swim, 11 km on a bike, and finishes with a 2.5 km run. The event is $30 Individual and $60 per team (Teams consist of 3 people)<\/p>\n
The race distances are 450 yard swim (9 laps down and back), 11 km bike ride (8 lap loop) and 2.5 km run (along Rifle Creek Trail).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Road closed at East 21st Street and Whiteriver Avenue.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Road closed at East 16th Street and Whiteriver Avenue.<\/p>\n
\u2022 One lane traffic 18th Street and Railroad Avenue.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Metro Park Parking Lot closed.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Staff parking in police department public parking area.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Public and participant parking in Garfield County Associate Court (if needed overflow into Metro Park parking lot).<\/p>\n
Rifle Aquatics 50th anniversary<\/p>\n
From noon to 4 p.m. Parks and Rec will host a Rifle Aquatics 50th Anniversary Celebration. Pool rates will be reduced, free hot dogs will be available while supplies last, there will be door prizes, and commemorative items will be handed out. The 50th celebration is in preparation of the end of the current pool facility and the start of the new pool project.<\/p>\n
