Topics are to include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Common&nbsp;mental&nbsp;health&nbsp;challenges for&nbsp;youth.<\/li>\n<li>A review of typical adolescent development.<\/li>\n<li>A five-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Anxiety, depression, substance use and other disorders in which psychosis may occur.<\/li>\n<li>Disruptive behavior disorders, including ADHD and eating disorders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To register, click on <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSc3uXswCYX2DL8RC9zWWW_rXD6L1BkP-OL6KSE0suxWew9r4g\/viewform\">https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSc3uXswCYX2DL8RC9zWWW_rXD6L1BkP-OL6KSE0suxWew9r4g\/viewform<\/a>; or, contact Sonja Linman: Prevention Specialist Roaring School District <a href=\"mailto:slinman@rfschools.com\">slinman@rfschools.com<\/a>, or Courtney Dunn: Prevention Specialist Aspen School District <a href=\"mailto:cdunn@aspenk12.net\">cdunn@aspenk12.net<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A similar event geared to mental health first aid for adults is being planned for sometime in September.<\/p>\n<p>The free Fall Connections Campaign series has four additional scheduled events continuing through Nov. 23.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>AUG. 24 \u2014 CONNECTION PICNIC<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Noon \u2013 3 p.m.:<\/strong> The Connection Picnic at Veltus Park, 901 Midland Ave., invites community members to a free, catered lunch, along with a guest speaker who is slated to talk about the need for connection as it relates to overall well being.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>OCT. 10 \u2014 RFSD INFORMATION AND INSPIRATION EVENT<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>6 p.m.:<\/strong> Taking place at the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue, attendees will watch the film \u201cThe Ripple Effect\u201d and a panel discussion will follow.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>OCT. 12 \u2014 WESTERN SLOPE OUT OF THE DARKNESS WALK<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>10 a.m.:<\/strong> A walk beginning at Sayre Park, 1702 Grand Ave., is aimed at raising suicide awareness and funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
