class=\"STND-STND BodyText DropCap\">Residents of the Basalt area afflicted by Sunday\u2019s flash floods and mud slides were regrouping on a sunny Monday morning cleaning mud and debris from their yards and driveways.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">One of the trigger points for the floods was at Pinon Drive and Cedar Drive, an area above Basalt from <a id=\"N0x132a140N0x14a4ab0:N0x132a140N0x131b0e8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/news\/crews-responding-to-flash-flooding-on-lake-christine-fire-burn-scar-near-basalt\/\">where the initial 911 calls were placed<\/a> at approximately 5:30 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Keith McDougal\u2019s Sopris Avenue home is located below what he said is called \u201cdrainage zero,\u201d an area prone to floods and slides. McDougal was cleaning up debris and mud from his eroded driveway Monday morning, as other neighbors were assessing and cleaning their properties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u201cPinion and Cedar was where the problem started. It flowed down Cedar, hit a point here up at the curve and came down this drainage,\u201d he said, pointing uphill from his driveway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">McDougal said he and others did some \u201cgame-time fixes\u201d by diverting the water flow by his property.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The <a id=\"N0x132a140N0x14a4bd0:N0x132a140N0x131b3b8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/news\/flash-flooding-wreaks-havoc-on-basalt-area\/\">flash flooding resulted in resident evacuations<\/a> as well as road closures. There were no reported injuries, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">All of the roads, including the Frying Pan \u2014 where 10 vehicles had been stuck Sunday and later removed \u2014 had re-opened to traffic by Monday. Pinon and Cedar drives, as well as Two Rivers Road, also had been closed.
