Just about everyone is aware of the infamous \u201creset button.\u201d You know, the button you hit to reset whatever you want, and start over. Well to me it looks like City Council is instead using the \u201cidiot button,\u201d and it seems like this button is pressed often these days.<\/p>\n
Most recently, disclosing via the Post Independent about an 8:30 a.m. meeting \u2014 the day before it is supposed to occur \u2014 where the public can contribute comments regarding the $7.5 million debacle known as the \u201cFestival Street.\u201d How convenient. I am sure there are a boatload of citizens that would have liked to attend but could not. Most citizens of Glenwood are trying to eke out a living at 8:30 a.m. And most citizens can\u2019t spontaneously take off time at 8:30 a.m. within a less than 24-hour notice. BAM! (Idiot button being pressed).<\/p>\n
And just a few weeks prior: BAM! Dream boating about the confluence and how to totally mess it up, (unless they just make it open space, which is way too dull for most City Council members).<\/p>\n
And also a few weeks prior: BAM! A parking study for RFTA. What a waste. Use existing resources and not a third party.<\/p>\n
Streets First City Council! The $7.5 million would have gone a long way toward fixing a lot of our streets. And leave the Confluence as open space (no buildings, hotels, restaurants\u2026 nothing). And please toss the idiot button ASAP. The citizens of Glenwood are getting a bit tired of you. (Tony Hershey \u2013 you are exempt.) Start representing your constituents. Quite honestly, I don\u2019t think you know how.<\/p>\n
