And while Amber has put up impressive showings, herself, as a driver, she says she still feels like she\u2019s falling short of his expectations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPart of the reason we\u2019re so close is because of racing, but a lot of the reasons we fought was because of racing too,\u201d she says. \u201cIn the back of my mind, I always had that question: \u2019Would my dad think I was a better race car driver if I was a boy?\u2019 I feel like I\u2019ve constantly had to prove myself how committed I am to this sport, to this passion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And, as Amber\u2019s struggling to land sponsorships in North Carolina, she says she\u2019s beginning to wonder if her time in the United States is worth the sacrifice, especially since she doesn\u2019t see her dad giving her any more respect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s definitely lonely in Charlotte,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s just hard to be away from my family, my friends, my boyfriend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to believe that I\u2019m gonna be this big NASCAR star,\u201d she adds. \u201cBut I don\u2019t know it for sure, and if I don\u2019t race, is it worth being away for months on end?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Think Amber can stick it out in North Carolina?
