Surrounded by his Mt. Valley family, Bobby Rhodes of Rifle, Colorado, passed away Tuesday, September 24th.<\/p>\n

Born in Cody, Wyoming, Bobby was the son of Allen and June Rhodes. He is preceded in death by his mother and father and his oldest brother, Rex Rhodes. He is survived by his sisters, Cindy Rhodes, Pam Powell, and Deanna Frazer, and his brother Larry Rhodes.<\/p>\n

Bobby spent his early years in Lander, WY, and Grand Junction, CO. In 1975 Bobby came to Mountain Valley Developmental Services, in Glenwood Springs, and was one of their original residents. For a number of years Bobby lived with other Mountain Valley residents in apartment settings and then various group homes in Glenwood and Rifle. Bobby integrated well into the community where he held a number of different jobs including delivering papers, working at City Market, and doing recycling work. Later Bobby started working at the Mountain Valley Greenhouse, which was a place he enjoyed very much.<\/p>\n

Bobby enjoyed bowling, playing basketball and Special Olympics. Bobby always had a good sense of humor and loved a good joke. In his later years, he enjoyed art activities, dancing and working with Meals on Wheels. Throughout his life he loved listening to music, playing cards and games, preparing meals at home, organizing and cleaning, and he always enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Bobby was a very friendly person and made numerous friends both at Mountain Valley and in the communities that he lived and worked.<\/p>\n

He was loved by many and will truly be missed. A celebration of life will be held for Bobby at the Glenwood Springs Recreation Center, 100 Wulfsohn Rd, Glenwood Springs, at 1:00pm on October 10, 2019. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mountain Valley Developmental Services https:\/\/www.mtnvalley.org\/donate-now\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n
