Since Rucker took a break from that insanely successful band and launched his country solo career in 2008, he hasn\u2019t really released new music \u2014 and certainly nothing country \u2014 from that band in the last 14 years. <\/p>\n<p>But the instantly infectious song is one of the recently released singles from the band\u2019s <em>Imperfect Circle<\/em> album due out Nov. 1. <\/p>\n<p>And Rucker claims that even some of the band\u2019s earliest songs from 1994 could\u2019ve been called country, in their own way. \u201cI truly believe that \u2018Let Her Cry\u2019 is the first country song I ever wrote. What we\u2019re doing now and the music we made in our earliest days, even what I\u2019ve done in my solo career \u2014 the lines are all so blurred that it\u2019s hard to define genres today. The now-iconic bar sits on Front Beach on the Isle of Palms, just 13 miles east of the peninsula of Charleston. <\/p>\n<p>The place has been around for 46 years, and holds a special place in Rucker\u2019s heart. So much so that earlier this year, he played <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postandcourier.com\/charleston_scene\/darius-rucker-performs-birthday-concert-at-one-of-his-favorite\/article_823bd5d0-7653-11e9-922f-431efa508c59.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">a private birthday concert <\/a>there for 300 friends and family, including his one of his daughters who joined him on stage for \u201cYou\u2019ve Got a Friend\u201d during his James Taylor covers set. <\/p>\n<div class=\"author\">\n<div class=\"description\"> Alison makes her living loving country music.
