Kyle Mills \/ Post Independent<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Glenwood Springs Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Maple Street Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>According to a news release, the fire department received the call at 7:20 a.m. and within 20 minutes had it under control.<\/p>\n<p>Upon arriving at the scene, fire fighters encountered heavy smoke from within the home where the fire was burning.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters immediately removed an occupant from the home and then began offensive fire suppression operations according to the news release.<\/p>\n<p>One occupant was transported to Valley View Hospital for smoke inhalation.<\/p>\n<p>Four engines, two ambulances, a command vehicle and 13 firefighters including mutual aid from Carbondale &amp; Rural Fire Protection District and Colorado River Fire Rescue responded to the fire, which is currently being investigated by members of the Garfield County Fire Investigation team.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of the fire was not yet available.<\/p>\n<p><em>This is a developing story and will be updated as more information is available.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/news\/morning-structure-fire-in-glenwood-on-maple-street-under-control-within-20-minutes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Post Independent<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Firefighters with Glenwood Springs mop up and investigate the scene of an early morning house fire at 501 Maple Street.
