Next Monday (Dec. 13), Blake Shelton\u2019s next album Fully Loaded: God\u2019s Country<\/em> will be released. And I\u2019m sure the liner notes will be full of all kinds of credits for his songwriters, producers, label bosses and more. But in a new story<\/a> in the Tennessean<\/em>, Shelton is giving a lot of credit to the man upstairs. <\/p>\n

\u201cI believe in God now more than I ever have in my life,\u201d Shelton said. \u201cThe biggest part of that is just how (Gwen Stefani) came into my life and now our relationship. It\u2019s just too weird. If you take God out of it, it doesn\u2019t make sense. If you put God into it, everything that\u2019s happened with us makes sense.\u201d Shelton and Stefani have been dating since 2015. <\/p>\n

The title track from the album is one that Shelton admits came to him when he was on the verge of feeling sorry for himself because his success hadn\u2019t come with any kind of guarantee. \u201cHow am I going to feel when this goes away? I was kind of having that pity party,\u201d he recalled thinking. <\/p>\n

But when \u201cGod\u2019s Country\u201d came along, Shelton realized that it \u2014 either the Southern rock sound or the God-is-good lyrics \u2014 was just what he needed, and just what his fans wanted. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere is still the old-school segment of country music fans out there that are starved for that,\u201d he said. \u201cBut even more than that is this new young generation of country music fans who know \u2018Country Boy Can Survive,\u2019 and they want their generation\u2019s version of that song. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat really excited me to know that that part of country music is alive and well out there, it just hasn\u2019t been fed.\u201d<\/p>\n
