{"id":1317375,"date":"2019-12-23T05:30:06","date_gmt":"2019-12-23T12:30:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cmt.com\/news\/?p=1815935"},"modified":"2019-12-23T05:30:06","modified_gmt":"2019-12-23T12:30:06","slug":"luke-bryan-i-love-being-the-guy-a-lot-of-people-count-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kske\/music-news\/luke-bryan-i-love-being-the-guy-a-lot-of-people-count-on\/","title":{"rendered":"Luke Bryan: \u201cI Love Being the Guy a Lot of People Count On\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cmt.mtvnimages.com\/uri\/mgid:ao:image:cmt.com:686545?width=1200&amp;height=675&amp;.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p><span class=\"byline\"> by <span class=\"author\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cmt.com\/news\/author\/bonaguroa\/\" title=\"Posts by Alison Bonaguro\" rel=\"author\">Alison Bonaguro<\/a><\/span> <span class=\"date\"><br \/>\n13m ago<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span> <\/p>\n<p>In the year-end issue of <em>Country Aircheck<\/em> magazine, Luke Bryan talks at length about how much has changed for him in the past decade, and how he has truly loved every minute of it. <\/p>\n<p>By his own estimation, Bryan is currently the boss of at least 55 people every day \u2014 and nearly double that when he\u2019s in the middle of a stadium tour \u2014 and he says that they count on him to do his job every night. \u201cPeople are like, \u2019When are you going to retire?\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2019I don\u2019t want to have to tell people that work for me that they don\u2019t have a gig.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love being the guy a lot of people count on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Bryan reflects on everything he and his team have accomplished since his debut album <em>I\u2019ll Stay Me<\/em> more than 12 years ago, he sounds very content with all of it. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never wanted to be one of those artists who dreams of this, moves to town, gets the dream and then is miserable,\u201d Bryan says. \u201cI wished for it, fought for it and it was worth every second. I don\u2019t have many regrets. I don\u2019t look back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He does admits that there may have been little mistakes along the way, and that he knows he\u2019s not going to knock it out of the park every single time. That said, that\u2019s where the people he surrounds himself with come in. \u201cYou\u2019re just trying to be a great boss, be decisive and have fun with all of this. I think people know I truly still have a lot of fun being in this role,\u201d he says. \u201cYou\u2019ve just got to trust everybody in your circle and have people in place who try to keep you in check and add perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you have ups and downs, you can\u2019t run around blaming everyone else. Essentially it all falls on you. Where I am now is a product of all the groundwork for my first radio tour early to doing the CMA radio remotes last month. I relish those relationships and what country radio and I have been able to build together. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never want to take it for granted,\u201d Bryan adds, \u201cbecause nothing will ever feel better than hearing your music on the radio.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>(Except maybe seeing your video on CMT. Bryan\u2019s \u201cAll My Friend Say\u201d from 2007 \u2014 his first official music video \u2014 was shot on the front lawn of the fictitious Theta Delta house at the University of Georgia in Athens at the actual <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetachiuga.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Theta Chi<\/a> house.
