Glenwood Springs High School\u2019s boys hockey team shook off five hours of \u201cbus legs\u201d Saturday to defeat Woodland Park at World Arena in Colorado Springs, 11-2.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had some bus legs in the first period and didn\u2019t play well,\u201d coach Tim Cota said after the win moved the Demons to 3-1 to start the post-holiday portion of the schedule.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe didn\u2019t panic and put together a dominating second period to put the game out of reach in the third period,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Glenwood Colter Strautman had four goals on the night. Other Demon goals came from Robbie Weir, Ryan Kotz, Traven Hammond, Dylan Webster, Kelton McPherson, Owen Mangeot and Cole Houston.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to find a way to play our best game at any time,\u201d added coach Richie Luetke. \u201cQualifying for the playoffs is too tight to have a misstep.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Demons host their first home game of the season at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday versus Standley Lake at the Glenwood Springs Community Center ice rink.<\/p>\n
