One that sounds like a lie but is absolutely true.<\/p>\n<p>That tweet went viral. <\/p>\n<p>So much so that Luke Combs was one of the thousands to respond. And his answer is an absolute truth that is so startling that you might not actually believe it. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I was just getting started, I had one of my first meetings in Nashville\u2026only to be told the songs I shared that day weren\u2019t good enough,\u201d Combs recalled. \u201cThey all went No. 1.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMoral of the story, don\u2019t ever let anyone stop you from chasing your dreams.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">When I was just getting started, I had one of my first meetings in Nashville\u2026only to be told the songs I shared that day weren\u2019t good enough. I had meetings with publishers and labels, and people would say, \u2019Man, the songs just aren\u2019t that great.\u2019 But it was my songs, it was \u2019Hurricane,\u2019 it was \u2019When It Rains.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So how did Combs go so seamlessly from no to yes? He turned Nashville\u2019s rejection into his motivation. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was fuel for me. That motivated me so much. I don\u2019t ever want to get to the pinnacle of my success and gloat to anybody. That\u2019s not the right thing to do. I\u2019m proud of what we have, and I\u2019m proud of how it all happened. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose things that didn\u2019t work out for me probably mean that at the time,\u201d he added, \u201cI wasn\u2019t ready yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"author\">\n<div class=\"description\"> Alison makes her living loving country music.
