Glenwood Springs senior Eric Krauth was dominant in a home meet Thursday night for the Demons that was otherwise dominated by the visiting Meeker Cowboys.<\/p>\n

Krauth won his 138-pound bout in a 23-10 major decision over Meeker\u2019s Tyson Portwood in what would be the Demons\u2019 only contested match win for the night.<\/p>\n

Meeker won the dual meet 66-16 over the host team.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur team was kind of getting beat up, so I knew I needed to go and work what we\u2019ve been practicing in the room \u2026 and give the team something to feel good about,\u201d Krauth said after his win, which improved his season record to 24-10.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was trying some new shots, and have been working on getting my conditioning where it needs to be. There\u2019s always something new to learn from every match,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Glenwood\u2019s JoJohn Ritter had a competitive match going with Meeker\u2019s Elijah Leblanc in the 145-pound bout, before falling in 3:53. Same for Caden Howe at 160 pounds, who finally fell to Meeker\u2019s Dax Sheridan in 3:44. The 285-pound match was also competitive before Demon Bryce Wheeler fell to the Cowboys\u2019 Reese Harvey in 3:11.<\/p>\n

The remainder of Glenwood\u2019s points came by forfeit, including Elo Garcia at 152, and Cameron Small at 170 pounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe kids were definitely fired up to wrestle in front of the home crowd,\u201d assistant Glenwood coach Miles Cook said of the Demons\u2019 one and only home meet this season. \u201cWe were hoping to make a little more noise than we ended up making, but I\u2019m excited for them. They\u2019re getting better every match, and we\u2019re just hoping to peak at the right time as we get ready in a couple of weeks for regionals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rifle 51, Olathe 27<\/p>\n

The Rifle Bears scored a dual win on the road at Olathe Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Highlights included hard-fought wins for Talon Cordova at 132 pounds by fall in 4 minutes over the Pirates\u2019 Silvano Alejandro, and for Levi Miller at 170 pounds by fall in 5:48 over Peter German.<\/p>\n

Other match wins for Rifle included: Hunter Bercher (106) by 6-0 decision over Justus Hubbard; Cauy Smith (126) by fall in 1:09 over Trenton Fletcher; Bryce Rowley (138) by fall in 1:26 over Mason Galvan; Dillon Tiffany (160) by fall in 3:39 over Jordan Perez; and Alex Guardado (195) by fall in 1:11 over Rodney Rice.<\/p>\n

Basalt 30, Coal Ridge 24<\/p>\n

A dual meet in Basalt saw only two contested matches for the night, with the remainder being decided by forfeit.<\/p>\n

At 160 pounds, Basalt\u2019s Brady Samuelson defeated the Titans\u2019 Ronin Rockey by fall in 17 seconds; and, the Longhorns\u2019 Ernesto Lopez won his 285-pound bout by fall in 1:01 over Rafael Sanchez.<\/p>\n
