Westbound traffic is reportedly still moving.<\/p>\n<p>Garfield County has also issue an accident alert for areas outside of city and town limits. This means Garfield County Sheriff\u2019s officers or the Colorado State Patrol may not be able to respond to the high volume of accidents, and motorists involved in minor, non-injury crashes should move their vehicles to the side of the road and exchange insurance information.<\/p>\n<p>Roads are slick due to a snowstorm that\u2019s moving into the area. The National Weather Service has issued a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"winter weather advisory (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/MapClick.php?lat=39.54603000000003&amp;lon=-107.32369999999997#.XjwkURNKigQ\" target=\"_blank\">winter weather advisory<\/a> for today through Friday, with heavy snow expected and hazardous driving conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The Colorado Department of Transportation\u2019s cotrip.org has also issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/cotrip.org\/map.htm#\/default?TravelAlertId=325785\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"heavy snow warning (opens in a new tab)\">heavy snow warning<\/a> for the Interstate 70 corridor from Dotsero to Denver due to the winter storm warning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeavy snow with strong gusty winds will create blowing and drifting snow producing low visibilities,\u201d according to the advisory.&nbsp;\u201cTravel could be very difficult to impossible with safety closures and avalanche events likely.&nbsp;Wind chill temperatures are forecast well below zero.
