Next up on the journey is a rescheduled game with Summit at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 at the Community Center, followed by a Feb. 22 home stand against Aspen.

Against Steamboat, Glenwood scored the first four goals of the night (two from junior Max Mencimer, one from junior Robbie Wier and another from senior Ryan Kotz) before the Sailors finally got on the board 9:22 into the second period to make it 4-1.

The Demons had another two goals, one from junior Nolan McPherson in the other from Mooney 7:22 into the third period to close down any chance for a Sailors’ comeback.

Steamboat did take advantage of penalties for the host team to add a goal on a power play with less than 2 minutes remaining, but by then it was academic.

“We were disciplined tonight – steady and sure moving forward,” Glenwood coach Tim Cota said. “We needed to focus on defense tonight, just with playoffs in mind. We did that, and it was a big improvement over the last game versus Steamboat.”

Senior goalie Hunter Hadsock had 17 saves on the night, as the Demons had 10 more shots on goal than the Sailors.

“The boys in front of me played well defensively tonight,” Hadsock said. “I feel our power play is starting find a rhythm.
