Even with the chaos of an album release just a month away, Kelsea Ballerini found time in her schedule for her first ever trip to New York Fashion Week. And we are not mad about it. <\/p>\n

Because Ballerini is just like us. So when she saw Blake Lively in real life, she posted about what that felt like. <\/p>\n

Play it cool Kelsea: I just attended my first ever fashion show and got to wear a gorgeous @MichaelKors<\/a> look and see his stunning new collection. <\/p>\n

And when she talked with<\/a> Women\u2019s Wear Daily<\/em>, she opened up about where she fits in with the other women in country music. <\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t know it at the time, because I was blissfully naive and young, that when I put out my first single, there was a lack of females and it was a climate of the Carries and the Mirandas still having wild success on radio, but there was a gap between them and who was next. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I think when you\u2019re naive you just go in and you\u2019re like, \u2018This is what I want to do. I\u2019m going to go do it.\u2019 And you don\u2019t know what you can\u2019t do, so you just think you can and I think it\u2019s a great thing, I think it\u2019s a gift.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ballerini\u2019s third album, Kelsea<\/em>, will be released on March 20. And she says she\u2019s hopeful about the country radio gender bias, but it is an uphill battle. \u201cI think that everyone is very aware of it and I think when people are very aware of it, that\u2019s when things have to start changing,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I think for a while people were kind of like, \u2018Yeah, but Carrie just had a number one.\u2019 Just kind of writing it off instead of saying, \u201cNo, this 80 percent male, 20 percent female is unequal and not OK.\u201d So, I think now that everyone\u2019s very aware of it, we will start having changes.\u201d<\/p>\n
