It\u2019s difficult to do, but it\u2019s vital to keeping your sanity as an artist,\u201d she said. \u201cI constantly have a notebook or my phone and am writing down ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When it came time to write her debut single \u201cMore Hearts Than Mine\u201d with Sam Ellis and Derrick Southerland, Andress recently <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cmt.com\/news\/1815819\/ingrid-andress-im-a-sucker-for-all-emotional-songs\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">told CMT <\/a>that she drew from a real-life situation. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe last time I brought somebody to meet my family was back in college and they loved him so much and they still ask about him. This was like 10 years ago, by the way. They\u2019re like, \u2019Oh, what is this guy doing?\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2019Oh, he hates me now because I totally broke his heart.\u2019 They still ask about him though,\u201d she\u2019d said. \u201cThey\u2019re like, \u2019He was our favorite.\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I feel like because they held on so tightly to that relationship, it\u2019s made me have to rethink now, like, \u2019OK, if I do bring this person home, I don\u2019t want to have to relive this whole thing of them being attached.\u2019 So (the song) was definitely from a real place.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"author\">\n<div class=\"description\"> Alison makes her living loving country music.
