Did Jon Pardi just release a female empowerment anthem?<\/p>\n

And if so, can we get an amen?<\/p>\n

The title of Pardi\u2019s brand new song \u201cAin\u2019t Always the Cowboy\u201d might sound like it\u2019s just another fiddle-heavy cowboy song \u2014 not that there\u2019s anything wrong with that \u2014 but this one\u2019s actually more of a cowgirl<\/em> song. And Pardi told Billboard Country Update<\/em> that the message this new tune sends is one of absolute girl power. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe girls are out there raising hell these days,\u201d Pardi said of the song penned by Brandon Kinney and Josh Thompson. \u201cThe females are fighting. They\u2019re saying they\u2019re strong, you know, and it\u2019s great. So it was cool (that) this is about girls kind of doing their own thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

This song is kind of like George Strait\u2019s \u201cThe Cowboy Rides Away,\u201d he explained, but this time it\u2019s the girl who can\u2019t be tied down. \u201cYou take that and kind of flip it,\u201d he said, \u201cit takes on a whole different perspective. It\u2019s not why I\u2019m putting it out there, but it\u2019s like whatever way that helps, here\u2019s some more power.<\/p>\n

\u201cGirls, go get it.\u201d<\/p>\n
