On Tuesday (March 31), Sara Evans announced that she\u2019d be releasing her memoir Born To Fly<\/em> in September. <\/p>\n

I’m so excited to finally reveal a project I’ve been keeping a secret for a while now\u2026 I’ve written a memoir called BORN TO FLY!! And on Monday, I had the chance to ask her all about it: the process she went through and the courage it takes to share your personal stories with the world. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a very, very stressful experience, to be honest,\u201d Evans told me. \u201cThe publisher initially came to me and said, \u2019Would you be interested in writing nonfiction books?\u2019 So first I wanted to do something like I Don\u2019t Know How She Does It<\/em> (Allison Pearson\u2019s debut novel). Sort of saying that I\u2019ve got unsolicited advice as to how I\u2019ve managed to raise three children in his career and be on the road and taking them with me everywhere and all that. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe problem was that they kept pushing me for more memoir stuff. They want the juice of your life. But I wanted to keep it generic but still show my personality and my humor and all that,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

Evans admitted that not everyone is going to love every page of her story. \u201cI mean, I\u2019m just going to ask my family not to read it,\u201d she laughed. \u201cI didn\u2019t talk bad about anybody. I just told my truth. And I hate that phrase \u2014 it\u2019s so popular \u2014 but it really is my<\/em> truth, and my version of how I saw things. I\u2019ve just had so many nights where I\u2019d have night anxiety,\u201d she said, \u201cso when I\u2019m sitting outside drinking my wine, I\u2019ll remind myself that the memoir\u2019s coming out. It\u2019s just that when you have a lot of siblings, we\u2019re sort of like that show Bloodline.<\/em> We are extremely close and in each other\u2019s business, but we are also extremely sensitive.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a press release, Evans explained how the timing of the book couldn\u2019t be better. \u201cWith 2020 being the 20th anniversary of my Born To Fly<\/em> album release, which was such a pivotal project for me and my career on so many levels, this book really brings everything full circle. I am so proud of how it all came together and can\u2019t wait to share it with everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
