Jared Polis\u2019 executive stay-at-home order issued in March.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<div class=\"row gspi-donation gspi-donation-mobile p-0\">\n<div class=\"col-xl-4 p-2\">\n<div data-bg=\"url(https:\/\/cdn.postindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2020\/03\/PI-logo-white.png)\" class=\"p-0 mt-2 mb-2 h-75 text-center rocket-lazyload\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.postindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2020\/03\/PI-logo-white.png\" class=\"logo m-0 p-0 invisible\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-bg=\"url(https:\/\/cdn.postindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2020\/03\/pi-banner-paypal.jpg)\" class=\"col-xl-8 p-3 text-center rocket-lazyload\">\n<h3 class=\"d-inline mr-3\">Support Local Journalism<\/h3>\n<p><button class=\"btn d-inline\" type=\"button\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/donate\/?utm_source=article&amp;utm_medium=website&amp;utm_campaign=donation&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=mid-article\">Donate<\/a><\/button><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Critical businesses must still comply with social distancing requirements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Two Rivers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Heyl Construction Senior Manager Matt Graham said crews resumed work at Two Rivers Park on Monday after the city approved its COVID-19 work guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFortunately no one from Heyl, nor any of our subcontractors, have tested positive for COVID-19,\u201d Graham said. \u201cWe take very seriously the question of whether we should be at work or at home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Graham, Heyl and its subcontractors were scheduling crews in a way that spaced workers out as much as possible across the park.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re trying to pair trades so the groups working are distanced from each other,\u201d Graham said.<\/p>\n<p>Next week, crews will install lighting bollards, complete work on the new restrooms near the boat ramp and pour concrete at the park\u2019s entry Graham said.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Two Rivers Park shut down in October and was scheduled to remain closed through the end of April for construction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt remains our goal and is feasible still to have the boat ramp and vast majority of the park available for public use by May 1,\u201d Graham said.<\/p>\n<p>Due to delays in material arrivals, reduced crew sizes and the temporary suspension of work, the project\u2019s completion date might get moved closer to June 1 Graham said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cedar Crest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gould Construction will also break ground on the Cedar Crest Project this week, which involves the replacement of waterlines, minor sewer work and broadband installation.<\/p>\n<p>CEO Mark Gould Jr. said the company was able to hire 18 employees back on as a result of the work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s great for those employees to be able to have a source of income to be able to take care of their families and buy the groceries and the things they need,\u201d Gould said.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to Gould, the company was providing face coverings to all of its employees to wear on the job site.<\/p>\n<p>A city public health order, which took effect Tuesday morning, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/news\/glenwood-springs-requires-residents-to-wear-face-coverings-for-essential-activities\/\">requires<\/a> individuals to wear face coverings for all essential activities outside of their home.<\/p>\n<p>Gould said the company was also asking employees health-related questions and taking temperatures before allowing anyone on the job site.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re being very cautious,\u201d Gould said. \u201cIf somebody even has seasonal allergy type of symptoms we\u2019re asking them to go home or not come in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gould was unaware of any COVID-19 cases within Gould Construction\u2019s staff.<\/p>\n<p><strong>27th Street<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the Two Rivers Park and Cedar Crest projects, residents can also expect minor work on the 27th Street Bridge through Friday.<\/p>\n<p>During off-peak hours, contractor Ralph L. Wadsworth and its subcontractors must remove and replace damaged concrete.<\/p>\n<p>The work will require the bridge to go down to one lane at times between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists can still cross the 27th Street Bridge in both directions.<\/p>\n<p>According to Assistant City Engineer Jessica Bowser the replacement work will conclude Friday and was being paid for by the contractor.<\/p>\n<p><a><em><a href=\"mailto:mabennett@postindependent.com\">mabennett@postindependent.com<\/a><\/em><\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/news\/cedar-crest-and-two-rivers-park-projects-allowed-to-proceed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Post Independent<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Early stages for construction work along Cedar Crest drive are starting to take place in west Glenwood.
