So, why would you think it\u2019s OK for anybody to ride the bus? I don\u2019t get that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At its meeting on Monday, council by the same 4-3 vote allowed RFTA to continue operating in Glenwood Springs.<\/p>\n<p>However, some councilors who supported RFTA\u2019s continued service still wanted additional safety measures implemented by Thursday\u2019s meeting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy position hadn\u2019t changed,\u201d Davis said. \u201cSo, I won\u2019t support it either. Although, I do appreciate RFTA\u2019s efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>RFTA has said it routinely fogs and disinfects buses and beginning April 13 will require riders to have a face covering.<\/p>\n<p>A city public health order enacted on Tuesday requires Glenwood Springs residents to wear <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/news\/glenwood-springs-requires-residents-to-wear-face-coverings-for-essential-activities\/\">face coverings<\/a> for all essential activities \u2014 such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy \u2014 outside of their home.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a sleepless night last night. This is not easy either way,\u201d Willman said. \u201cBut, I think it\u2019s the right decision for right now,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Willman was satisfied with the additional safety protocols RFTA had implemented, but asked to revisit the issue if COVID-19 cases grew significantly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf COVID(-19) virus incidences grow at all significantly, I would be supporting stopping any traffic in and out of town,\u201d Willman said.<\/p>\n<p>According to RFTA CEO Dan Blankenship, if Glenwood Springs ever voted to disallow RFTA from picking up or dropping off passengers within its municipal boundaries, service to Silt and New Castle would likely discontinue, too.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rifle has already temporarily suspended RFTA service as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"mailto:mabennett@postindependent.com\">mabennett@postindependent.com<\/a> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.postindependent.com\/news\/city-council-allows-rfta-to-continue-service-to-glenwood-springs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Post Independent<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the second time this week, city council voted on whether or not to allow RFTA to continue servicing Glenwood Springs amid the COVID-19 crisis.
