The Bow Wow Film Festival has since 2015 played for a single evening at the Crystal Theater in Carbondale. But this year, due to Coronavirus, the festival has gone virtual, allowing viewers to experience it online anytime from now through May 22.<\/p>\n<p>The festival is a 90-minute program that celebrates, educates and inspires all things dog \u2014 through the art of short film.<\/p>\n<p>Bow Wow Film Festival works in partnership with animal welfare organizations, such as pet food pantries, humane societies and service dog organizations, to raise money and awareness. Locally, the film festival benefits Colorado Animal Rescue in their mission to practice \u201cexcellence in animal care, education, and advocacy to connect pets to their people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bow Wow films are made by filmmakers who are storytellers, animators and artists of award-winning, funny, and poignant shorts, according to a news release by the organization.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\" readability=\"6\">\n<div class=\"row gspi-donation gspi-donation-mobile p-0\" readability=\"7\">\n<div class=\"col-xl-4 p-2\">\n<div data-bg=\"url(https:\/\/cdn.postindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2020\/03\/PI-logo-white.png)\" class=\"p-0 mt-2 mb-2 h-75 text-center rocket-lazyload\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.postindependent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2020\/03\/PI-logo-white.png\" class=\"logo m-0 p-0 invisible\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><h3 class=\"d-inline mr-3\">Support Local Journalism<\/h3>\n<p><button class=\"btn d-inline\" type=\"button\" onclick=\"handleDonationButtonClickMidArticle()\">Donate<\/button><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Some of the films featured include a moving story called \u201cDeaf Dogs of OR,\u201d an animated short featuring BJ Leiderman of NPR musical fame and his dog Maizey, the return of the hysterical \u201cAsk Frank \u2014 Advice for Dogs,\u201d and the beautiful story of \u201cMike &amp; Abbie,\u201d a film about a rescue dog that changed the course of a man\u2019s life.
