My landlord came in about a month ago and said, \u2018We\u2019re going to do it for you,\u2019\u201d owner Patrice Fuller said.<\/p>\n<p>On one hand COVID provided the time to get the work done.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCOVID allowed us to take advantage of something we\u2019ve wanted to do for a long time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the expansion will help the brewery cope with current restrictions due to COVID.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe close-to-doubled our capacity. I probably have as many tables out here right now as I normally would in the summer, with the social distancing rules in place,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yampah Spa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yampah Spa\u2019s owners decided to perk up its interior.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe took advantage of [the lockdown] and repainted the whole inside. It\u2019s so hard to paint in here because we\u2019re open all the time. We did some repairs and maintenance that are hard to get to when there are people around all the time,\u201d co-owner Patsy Steele said.<\/p>\n<p>The painting and repairs were already on the Glenwood Springs spa\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were planning to do them but we would have had to do them piecemeal. This way we could just get it all done at once,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>So far guests have appreciated the new look, Steele said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople come in and say, \u2018The place looks and feels so fresh and clean,\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juicy Lucy\u2019s<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The owners of Juicy Lucy\u2019s Steakhouse in Glenwood Springs decided to play it cool during the lockdown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a Coolerado system. It was designed in Colorado, made for Colorado weather, so it\u2019s kind of a combo air conditioner\/swamp cooler, but it wasn\u2019t enough, so we did install [more] air conditioning,\u201d co-owner Cece Zumwinkle said.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, the restaurant would have been closed anyway to get the work done.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were going to close in April to have it done and actually that\u2019s about when they did it.
