The most exciting event in alpine ski racing, Downhill racers attempt to be the fastest one down the mountain through a minimum number of control gates. Speeds in Downhill often exceed 80 mph on major courses and require a hill with at least a 750 meter vertical drop.<\/div>\n

Located in the center of Beaver Creek Village, this heated tent is open daily until 5pm. The InterX Pavilion has everything you need \u2013 breakfast, race coverage, free food & alcohol sampling, full bar service, music, prizes and more! The Vail Valley officially welcomes the world back to Vail and Beaver Creek on Monday, February 2, at 7pm in Championships Plaza (Solaris). Featuring fireworks, a light show, live music and special guest appearances, the Opening Ceremony of the 2015 World Championships will be our community\u2019s first opportunity to shine as the world looks on. The show will be divided into three segments \u2013 Dream It, Live It and Share It \u2013 celebrating the values that make ski racing so special, along with those at the top of the sport. While the majority of the ceremony will be kept a surprise, fans can expect an hour of live entertainment filled with heart-warming notes and a touch of the unexpected. Come early \u2013 attendance is free to the public but it is expected that the venue will reach maximum capacity. Gates open at 5pm arrive early to secure your spot.<\/div>\n
