The first run of the Ladies\u2019 Giant Slalom at the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail & Beaver Creek.<\/p>\n

Giant Slalom is the event characterized as being the discipline requiring the most technical skill as skiers race down the mountain through a faster and more open course than in Slalom, which requires the execution of many short, quick turns.<\/p>\n

The number of gates in a Giant Slalom course is determined by the vertical drop of the hill. The event is staged in two runs, with the total time of each run added together to determine the final finish order.<\/p>\n

Gates open at 8am<\/h2>\n

Arrive early to get a great seat and enjoy the live pre-race show festivities.<\/p>\n

Located in the center of Beaver Creek Village, this heated tent is open daily until 5pm. The InterX Pavilion has everything you need \u2013 breakfast, race coverage, free food & alcohol sampling, full bar service, music, prizes and more! The tent is free, open to the public and perfect for all ages.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s Avon, a free 12-day concert and street fair will be held from 2pm to 5:30pm every day after the races, February 3 through 14, 2015 at Avon\u2019s Main Street Mall. The festivities feature live music, craft brews, cocktails, food and performance art, along with visits by the 2015 official mascots and cheerleaders, ski racing athlete signings, including a visit by Olympic Gold Medalist Mikaela Shiffrin, distribution of the coveted AWSC pins and other American-rooted activities.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
